From Houston~CAPT Voigt?s orderly, son of Prussian Engineer in Houston. Was sent back to Texas to handle some business. He then returned, according Klopsteck diary on December 14, 1862 while the unit was camped near Grenada on Yalobusha River.~Following the Company?s capture July 13-14, 1863 and transfer to Vicksburg, along the way to St. Louis by steamboat & downstream of Helena, he, Lilie & Kubitz escaped across the river during the night.
