Funeral services for Emilie H. Dujka, 87, of Wallis, Texas, will be held on Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at 11 a.m. from the Knesek & Sons Funeral Home in Wallis, with Rev. Henry Beseda officiating. Interment at Krasna Cemetery in Wallis. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, at the Knesek & Sons Funeral Home. She was born Emilie Henrietta Schovajsa on Oct. 13, 1911 in the Michna School community near Shiner, Texas, to parents Frank and Rosalie (Tichavsky) Schovajsa, natives of Czechoslovakia and Hackberry, Lavaca County, Texas, respectively. She was raised on a farm and attended school at the Michna School and then Shiner High School, where she graduated valedictorian of her class in 1930. She attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos on a scholarship and received a temporary teaching certificate. She taught six years in the Michna School. Later in Fort Bend County, Needville, Guy, and lastly at Beasley, totaling 13 years of teaching. Every summer she attended summer school at the University of Texas in Austin, and in August 1939 she received a bachelor of arts degree. She was an active member of the Brethren Church in Shiner, and was a member of the Rosenberg Brethren Church since she arrived in Fort Bend County. On Aug. 22, 1945, she married Mr. Adolph Dujka. They settled on a farm in the Orchard-Tavener community where they lived all their married life. Adolph Dujka died on Feb. 16, 1992 after 46 years of marriage. Emilie Dujka died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999 in Wharton, Texas. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Paul Coppinger of Plano; son, Jay Paul Dujka of Richmond; son and daughter-in-law, David and Liz Dujka of Bay City; granddaughter, Kelli Miller and husband, Mike Miller of Bay City; grandsons, Paul Coppinger Jr. and Douglas A. Coppinger of Plano; great-grandchildren, Madison Dujka and Morgan Miller of Bay City; sister, Rosie Wentrcek of Rogers; sister-in-law, Emma Schovajsa of Shiner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosalie Schovajsa; brothers, infants Charles and Jerry Schovajsa; sisters, Louis Hruska, Vlasta Schovajsa, and Annie Schovajsa; and brother, Frank L. Schovajsa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Krasna Cemetery Association in Wallis. Funeral services will be held under the direction of Knesek & Sons Funeral Home, 122 N.
