Thelma Remmert Dahse of Bellville died on Sept. 10, 2013 at age 94. She was born Jan. 19, 1919 in Sealy to Mattie Kurtz Remmert and Otto Remmert. She was born at her mother’s parents, Charles and Doris Kurtz’s home. Her mother was staying there, as Otto was a soldier during WWI and stationed in Oklahoma. Thelma was baptized, confirmed, attended school and was married at the Catholic Immaculate Conception Church in Sealy. Thelma did not attend high school. She was her father’s “boy”, helping with all the farm chores to make a living for the family. She continued doing this until 1946. In 1945, she met a young soldier who had just returned from WWII. On Nov. 30, 1946, she married Norbert Dahse, moved to Bellville and lived there the rest of her life. Thelma and Norbert were very active members of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Bellville. They were greeters and ushers at church. Thelma taught religion for many years and was an active member of the Altar Society. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and the Bellville Fire Department. She also helped with many other charities. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie and Otto Remmert, her husband, Norbert (who died September 2009), her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Ralph Frank and her niece’s husband, Edward Krchnak. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Joe Novosad, “special” sister-in-law, Ella Mae Dahse, brother-in-law and wife, Melvin and Rita Dahse, niece, Joyce Krchnak, nephew and wife, Gary and Cathy Frank, 3 great nephews, 1 great niece and 10 great-great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Stephen Frank, Lynn Frank, Randall Krchnak, B.J. Gutowsky, William Zaskoda and Alan Cloyd. Lector: Vit Janda In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Sts.
