Lorene E. Cossman, age 76 of Hempstead, passed away on Jan. 5, 2013 in Houston. Lorene was born March 10, 1936 in Hempstead to Edward and Annie Rose Mikeska Maresh. She married Frank P. Cossman on Feb. 21, 1975 in Houston. Lorene attended Hempstead High School. She retired from the City of Hempstead and she worked as an administrative assistant for the Texas Commerce Bank in Houston. She was a member of the Nelsonville Brethren Church. Lorene is survived by daughters Francis Ann Holley of Virginia, Shawn Pletsch and husband Bill of Bastrop, Melanie Scholler and husband David of Houston, Kim Bishop of Houston, Susan Howard and husband Eugene of Navasota and Cindy Hartman of Houston; cousin Louise Wicke and husband James of Beeville; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Annie Rose Maresh, husband Frank P. Cossman, son-in-law L.R. Bishop and daughter Terri Lyons. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, 842 East Main, Bellville with Rev. Michael Groseclose officiating.
