October 4, 1984 Obituary Thomas D. Cook Funeral services for Thomas D. Cook, 64, of Bellville were held from the Chapel of the Pete E. Etlinger Funeral Home in Bellville at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 with Rev. Harold Sellers officiating. Burial was in the Oak Knoll Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Gilbert Eckermann, Harvey Stuessel, Cecil Wondrash, Srl, Otto Wiktorik, Leon A. Krause and Delano Pfeffer. Mr. Cook died in a Temple hospital at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 1984. He had been in failing health for the past three weeks. Born in Collin County, Texas on Nov.3, 1919 , he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Cook. He was reared in Denton County and attended the Denton County Public School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Austin County Farm Bureau. Mr. Cook was engaged in farming and was also employed as a carman for the Santa Fe Railroad. On June 23, 1943 he was married to Miss Laverne Fisher in ceremonies performed in Houston. Survivors include: wife, Mrs. Laverne Cook of Bellville; daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Hohlt of Bellville and Mrs. Darla Freire of San Antonio; sisters, Mrs. Charlcie Sauls of Aubrey and Mrs. Jean Lunsford of Aubrey; brother, Owen Cook of Collinsville; and five grandchildren.
