Obituary
1910
Death of Mrs. K. W. Reese Last Wednesday morning at 11:45 o'clock the angel of death entered the home of Mr. K. W. Reese, at Semponius, and took therefrom the loving wife and mother, Mrs. K. W. Reese. A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled: A place is vacant in that home, Which never can be filled. For nearly a year Mrs. Reese had been in feeble health, and although she was not expected to live, still her death came quite unexpectedly. An angel came and bore her away, to bloom again, within the Gardens of Light, beside the House of Many Mansions. Aching hearts that grive, weep not as those who have no faith; look up to where she blooms in Heaven's own fields, so sweet, so good, so pure, so true. O lily of immaculate purity, how fit an emblem of her noble life; that life so filled with good deeds and loving thoughts, fading like the lily, sweet, patient, uncomplaining and resigned. Dear one, we miss thee sore and yet--in Heaven we know that all that is well. No storms, nor shocks can touch thee there: serene to wait thro' all the years. Besides her sorrowing husband, son and three daughters, she leaves quite a number of other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. Her funeral took place from the family home at Sempronius Friday morning. A large funeral cortege following the remains to Oak Knoll cemetery at Bellville, where they were tenderly laid to rest by the side of her son, Kinion, who died ten years ago. The obsequies were conducted by Rev. I. W. Campbel. Posted by: Deborah Smith - San Antonio, Texas |
