A Life Remembered Pauline Stella Bienek was born Dec. 3, 1919 to Wallace and Josephine (Krocolck) Kaliszewski in Bellville. She was educated and married in Bellville and lived there, and in the Cochran and Raccoon Bend Community, her entire life. She married Mike Bienek on Oct. 26, 1937 and attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where her parents helped to establish the church in its beginnings. Pauline was a fabulous cook, and accomplished seamstress, an avid reader and most of all a loving wife, mother and caregiver. Her compassion for others was an example to all who knew her. Even when she could no longer attend church services, she received communion at home after Saturday’s Mass and remained intensely interested in what was happening in the church community and at “Young at Heart” a church recreational group she attended regularly. Pauline and her family are so thankful to have had Carla “Plunnie” McDade as her caretaker, friend and “Valentine”. Carla was essential in Pauline’s’ care and comfort. She was also thankful to have Texas Home Health Care and Brazos Valley Hospice visit her almost every day as her health declined. Pauline is survived by two sons Douglas Bienek of Bellville and Michael and Carrie Bienek of Bellville and one daughter Marcella Schomburg and husband Wayne of Sealy. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Aaron Schomburg of Bellville, Neil Schomburg and his wife Amy of Pearland, Leigh Ann Schomburg Ryan and husband Bob of Greenwich, Connecticut, and Jerid Bienek of Bellville. She also is survived by 8 great grandchildren: Grand, Christopher, Jacob and Hannah Schomburg; Lucy, Robert, and Maggie Ryan, and Trenton Bienek. She is preceded in death by her husband Mike Bienek, her parents Wallace and Josephine Kaliszewski, her sister Willie Mae Hintzel, and her brother Max Kaliszewski. Visitation for Pauline Bienek was Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary following. Funeral service was Monday, May 20,2013 at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with interment at Oak Knoll Cemetery. Pallbearers: Aaron and Neil Schomburg, Marvin and Melvin Hintzel, Jerid Bienek and Robert Ryan. In lieu of usual remembrances, those who wish may make memorial gifts to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lifeline of Austin County, or to the charity of their choice.
