Joe Mingus, 78, of New Ulm passed away on June 11, 2024. He was born on October 1, 1945, in Tyler, Texas, and grew up with his sister Margaret, brother Tim, and mother Corinne.

On December 21, 2002, Joe married the love of his life, Wanda, and they moved to New Ulm shortly afterward.

Joe retired in 2020 after many years of working as a construction manager in the oil/gas pipeline industry. He was also a very talented leather maker. He made and repaired saddles, chaps, purses, aprons, and anything to do with leather. He was a cowboy and horse trainer and could write the most wonderful cowboy poetry.

Joe is survived by his wife, Wanda; sister, Margaret Cassady (Joe); son, Kenny Mingus (Heather); daughter, Katy Carter (Clay); step-daughter, Amy Anderson (Lana); and grandchildren Avery, Kenan, Zack, and Karsyn.

He was preceded in death by his mother Corinne Flanagin; father Fred Mingus; brother Tim Mingus; and grandson Leo Dameron.
