Carlos Wayne Froebel, 82, of Bernardo, Texas passed away on June 11, 2022.
Carlos was born on January 25, 1940, to Arthur and Clara (Leenen) Froebel in Bellville, Texas. Carlos was raised in Cat Spring, Texas where he attended school in Sealy. He enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. After serving in the Army, he returned home and worked at GE in Houston, Texas. Soon after he met and married the love of his life, Virginia Ripper. Carlos and Virginia had one son, Brian in 1978. They moved back to Bernardo where they later built their forever home in 1984. Here they raised Brian and Carlos worked and retired from Smith Industries / Exterran. Carlos and Virginia were members of St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz, Texas. Carlos spent his retirement years traveling the areas watching all sporting events. He never met a stranger and became friends and followers of the athletes and many of the families he watched. He even had a baseball cap for all of his favorite teams, you never saw him without a cap. Carlos became a proud grandpa in 2011 and had 3 grandsons, Bowen, Asher and Quinn, they called him Pops. He couldn't wait until their time on the field and loved coming to watch them play little league. Carlos loved hunting, fishing and everything farm and ranch. He was the man that could fix anything! He was a handyman that could weld, carpenter and mechanic. There wasn't a tool he didn't have. Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Clara Froebel; two brothers Clyde and Robert Froebel and his loving wife, Virginia. He is survived by his son Brian and wife Deidra and grandsons Bowen, Asher and Quinn; brothers Cecil, Arthur Jr. and sister Betty Priesmeyer. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz, 1600 Frelsburg Rd, Alleyton, TX 78935. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a parish rosary at 9:30 AM. Fr. Bob Knippenberg will be officiating. Burial will be in St Roch Catholic Cemetery in Mentz, Texas. Pallbearers are Bryce Froebel, Keith Froebel, Todd Froebel, Michael Zweschper, Gary Zweschper and Jason Diaz. Honorary Pallbearers are Cecil Froebel, Arthur Froebel, Jr, RH Priesmeyer and Tony Rohan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Nesbitt Memorial Library, 529 Washington St., Columbus, TX 78934 or Bernardo Volunteer Fire Dept., 2845 FM 949, Cat Spring, TX 78933. |
