Jerome Barta, 93, of Houston passed away Wednesday, May 4th, 2022. He was born in Wallis, Texas on September 21, 1928 to Alfonse and Mary Barta.
He met his wife Elizabeth Orsak at a Sunday Country Dance in Sealy, Texas. They married in 1953 and have been happily married for 69 years. They had two children, a son Stephen and a daughter, Cynthia.

Following high school Jerome attended Wharton County Junior College for 2 years where he studied accounting. He was drafted in the Army where he served stateside for 2 years during the Korean War as a bookkeeper. He had a career in accounting and worked for Texfan as their CFO for 20 years. Later, he continued working as a consultant for various companies until his retirement. He was a member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic church and a KJT. A Czech Catholic Organization.

Jerome was a hardworking man whose goal was to provide for his family. He was dedicated to his career, family and faith. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Jerome had a selfless, caring spirit and put his family and others first.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alfonse and Mary Barta, Brother, Johnny and beloved son Stephen Barta.

Jerome will be sorely missed, more than any words could express. He will be forever in our hearts, until we meet again.

A rosary service will be held at 4:30pm at Forest Park Westheimer Chapel, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, Tx 77077, followed by a visitation from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, 13350 Ashford Point Dr., Houston, Tx 77082, followed by a committal service at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
