Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Zaruba. 90, of Sealy were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29 from the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy, with Rev. Paul McCollum and Rev. Joseph Hamala, a nephew, and Rev. Alois Pavlick officiating. Burial was in the Church Cemetery in Sealy.

Pallbearers were nephews, John Hamala, James Hamala, John Hauerland, Frank Hamala, Louis Buchala and Ludwig Sodolak.

Mrs. Zaruba died at 4:07 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1985 at Bellville General Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past four years. She was born in Czechoslovakia on June 17, 1895, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hamala. She was reared in Czechoslovakia.

On Nov. 23, 1914, she was married to Richard K. Zaruba in Sealy. He died on Nov. 23, 1974. She was member of both the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Sealy and St. Mary's Catholic Church of Frydek and the Catholic Workmen's Society.

A Parish Rosary was said at 7 p m. on Thursday. Nov. 28 by Rev. Mr. Frank Laredo.

Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Louise Marek of East Bernard, Miss Martha Zaruba of Houston and Mrs. Mary Sobotik of Houston; son, Richard S. Zaruba of Houston; sister, Mrs. Rosalie Onderka of Czechoslovakia; brother, John Hamala of St. Francis, Kan.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, one brother, and one grandson, Richard Sobotik.

Services were under the direction of the Pete K. Etlinger Funeral Home in Sealy.
