Alfonse W. Melnar, 83, passed away at his home in Wallis on September 6, 2015. He was born in Wallis on May 28, 1932 to parents Alfonse J. Melnar and Mary Stavinoha Melnar.
He attended Guardian Angel Catholic School. Mr. Melnar was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, the American Legion and KJT. He served our country in the Army during the Korean conflict. He worked for WKM and retired in May of 1998. Alfonse married the former Miss Madalyne Hranicky on April 7, 1968 in Wallis. Funeral Services at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, 2610 Demel, Wallis, Texas 77485 on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Thuy Quang Nguyen celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of commital. Visitation from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Rosary at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 Guardian Angel Catholic Church. Interment at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis. Survivors include his sons, Robbie Melnar and wife Wendy of Wallis and Terry Melnar of Wallis, sisters, Georgie Wren of Alvin, Mildred Janik and husband Charlie of Wallis and Helen Ondruch of Wallis, and brother, Bernard Melnar of Wallis, grandchildren, Ashlynn Vojtek, Leyton Dunham and Trinity Melnar. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. |
