Lucious Charles Holmes was born to the late Willie and Elizabeth Holmes on Wednesday March, 2,1949, in Bellville, Texas. He was one of twelve children born to this union.



Lucious attended Spice Elementary, Union Center School, Austin County High School and Bellville High School.



Lucious was known to family and friends as “Wolf”, a name given to him by his cousins, Gussie who called himself “wolfman”.



He was baptized under the leadership of the late Reverend Godman in 1965, and united with Samuel Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, then later moved to Isaiah Community African Methodist Episcopal Church.



Lucious was united in holy matrimony on September 18, 1966 to Ms. Georgia Mae Nicholson. To this union four daughters were born.



Lucious moved his family to Houston, Texas. Where he began working as a welder. Later in life he gained a passion for driving 18-wheeler trucks. He loved driving on any open road, delivering from state to state, and making lots of money along the way. Lucious retired from driving 18-wheelers 35 years later. He enjoyed hunting, shooting pool, riding motorcycles, master mechanic, playing dominos, and he had a passion for barbequing ribs, chicken, sausage, rabbit, coons, and anything else you would want him to put on that barrel pit, he would do it.



He is preceded in death by his parents; Willie and Elizabeth Holmes, three brothers; David, Robert and Lonnie Holmes, and one daughter; Barbara Holmes Jones. One great grandson; Jay’Ceon Zuber, and one great granddaughter; Ni’Jah Johnson (cookie).



He survived by his four children; daughters Angelia Holmes Green, Tamika Holmes Young of Houston, Texas. Eunice Holmes Knight of Richmond, Texas, and son Charles Johnson, of Colorado Springs; 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren. Four sisters; Glady Jenkins (Freely), of Houston, Texas, Alice Earthman (Edward), Bobbie Turner, of Bellville, Texas, Alberta Brandiberg (Lenel), of Sealy, Texas. Four Brothers; L.C. (Sonny) Curry, Willie D Holmes (Elizabeth), Elijah Holmes (Sallie), Charles R. Holmes (Gail), of Bellville, Texas, and in host of nieces and nephews, and host of family and friends.
