Obituary
2024
Arne Christopher Morgensen, Jr. 71, of Sealy, entered eternal life on Wednesday, February 14 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Arne was born in Mount Kisco, New York on July 15, 1952, the son of Arne, Sr. and Dororthy Elliot Morgensen. He married Florence (Fawn) Valden on August 31, 1974, in North Haven, Connecticut.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy. Arne was also a member of the Knights of Columbus of Sealy, Council #3313 and the Bluebonnet Men’s ACTS group. He had many things in life that he enjoyed, but above all were his family and friends. He loved spending time outdoors and especially loved taking care of his lawn.

Arne was known as a man of devotion. He was a very selfless man, always volunteering his time and talents to his family and spiritual community. Parishioners will remember his ever-faithful attendance at Immaculate Conception; often as a greeter, at CCE instruction as a “Guardian,” overseeing the children’s safety as well as a grandfather to all. When remembering Arne, everyone will surely say that he never had a harsh word for anyone. He spoke only kindness and was always there as a helping hand or to listen.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1972-1974 and in the U.S. National Guard from 1974-1978. Arne entered the workforce at a young age. From childhood, he served as an assistant groundskeeper, helping his father at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery. He then worked as a mechanic at Brewster Ford for 24 years. After moving to Texas in 1994, Arne worked as a mechanic at Valden Transport for 29 years. Arne worked hard and had exceptional mechanical and problem-solving abilities.

He is survived by his wife, Fawn, four sons: Arne Morgensen III, husband of Jeni of Trenton, TN, Chris Morgensen, husband of Jo Ann of Fayetteville, Rob Morgensen, husband of Jessica of Sealy, and Sean Morgensen, husband of Leah of Sealy, and two sisters: Helen, wife of Ray See of Patterson, NY and Marjorie, wife of Todd Costello of State College, PA; eleven grandchildren: Joey, Theresa, Danny and Gradee Morgensen, Kylie, Ellie and Grant Morgensen, Hannah and Noah Morgensen, and Brayden and Hartley Morgensen; numerous nephews and nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Theresa Valden.

The viewing will be held on Monday, February 19 from 5-6:30 followed by a rosary from 6:30-7:00 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception in Sealy on Tuesday, February 20. Family and friends will be received at 9:30-10:30 and the funeral mass will begin at 10:30. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Knesek Funeral Home. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook at knesekfuneralhome.com
