Evelyn Marie (Machinsky) Janish of Bellville passed away and went to be with our Lord on April 12, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Evelyn was born on October 5, 1938, in the New Ulm Community to Walter and Helen (Moeller) Machinsky. On November 20, 1956, she married the love of her life, Robert J. Janish Sr. Together they raised seven children.

Evelyn worked at Bellville Meat Processing for several years. She then became a cook and manager for Bellville High School Food Service for twenty-seven years until her retirement.

Evelyn loved gardening, crocheting, sewing, doing puzzles, and especially baking. She liked giving her homemade noodles, kolaches, peanut brittle, pies cheese rolls, and special crackers away to the Church Bazaar, friends, and family.

She was a devout member of the Catholic Faith.

Evelyn taught the second grade First Communion Class at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville for 17 years.

Evelyn enjoyed cooking big meals and spending time with her family and friends.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 67 years Robert Janish Sr., daughter Patricia (David) Stastny, sons, Robert Jr. (Sandra) of Fayetteville, Patrick of New Ulm, David, Timothy (Candy), Kenneth (Dena), Keith (Lisa) all of Bellville. Brother-in-law Charles Wendt of Sealy, sister-in-law, Mary Rainosek of Austin, Vlasta Korenek of Columbus, Clara Gerik of Fayetteville, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law Joe (Diane) of Fayetteville. Grandchildren: Christopher, Brian, Jason (Victoria) Stastny, Carson Janish, Jennifer Janish and Fiancee (Greg Rodgers), Dustin (Karina), Brandon (Lauren), Jacob, Ross (Kelsye) Janish, Reid, Gabriel and Fiancee (Sarah Marsh), Canute Janish, Cassie, Chase and Fiancee (Emily) Janish. Great-grandchildren: Skyler and Brayden Stastny, Urijah Janish, Kyler Janish, Trenton Janish, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; sister Earlene Kopecky and husband Johnny, brother Herbert Machinsky and wife Annie Mae and sister Waldine Wendt, in-laws Joe and Mary Janish, brothers-in-laws Peter Janish, Alois Janish and wife Charlene, Steve Janish, Frank Rainosek, Lawrence Korenek, Frankie Gerik, sisters-in-laws Annie Janish, Angeline Janish, nephews, Steve Kopecky, Michael Gerik, Richard Gerik, Mark Gerik, and Russell Janish.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Bellville from 5-7 P.M. A Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Bellville with burial at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Fayetteville, TX.

The Family would like to thank Mable Hall, Renee, Regina, Annie, and Chastity for all the wonderful care they gave to our mom. Also thanks to all the nurses, Drs., and the staff of Baylor Scott and White of Brenham, TX.
