Josephine Marie Machala was born on November 29, 1921 in Sealy to parents, John and Frances Novosad Machala. She was raised in Sealy and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School. She married Joe L. Stavinoha in Sealy on October 19, 1942 and was a homemaker all her life. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy, KJZT and the Altar Society.
Survivors include her daughters, Leona Buchala and husband, Clem, of Sealy, Irene McAlexander and husband, William, of Sealy, Loretta Hughes of Spring; and daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Stavinoha Dietz of Kingsville; sons, Larry Stavinoha of Sealy, and Garry Stavinoha and wife, Kathy Beth, of Austin; sister, Albina Mazac of Sealy; grandchildren, Joseph and wife, Tammy Hughes, Robert and wife, Wendi Hughes, John Buchala, Jared and Jason Stavinoha; great grandchildren, Joseph Seth Hughes; step-great- grandchildren, Chase and Kyle Allison. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Machala; husband, Joe L. Stavinoha; granddaughter, Nancy Buchala; son-in-law, Joseph Hughes; son, Joe Stavinoha; grandson, Joseph Stavinoha; sisters, infant Frances Machala, Louise Machala, and Molly Hundl; and brothers, Vince and John Machala. |
