Mildred “Waldine” (Machinsky) Wendt, 74, of Sealy, Texas passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019, in Katy, Texas.

Waldine Wendt was born November 22, 1944 in Bellville, Texas to her parents, Walter and Helen (Moeller) Machinsky. She was raised in New Ulm, Texas and attended West End Elementary and Bellville High School. On February 24, 1963, Waldine was joined in marriage to Charles E. Wendt, Sr. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg, Texas. Waldine was an amazing cook and worked in various food service positions including working alongside her sister, Evelyn, and nephews at Bellville Meat Processing, as well as serving as Food Service Supervisor at Azalea Manor Nursing Home and Bellville Hospital. She was a member of the Peter’s Community Friendship Club, a member of the Sealy Volunteer Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary, serving as president for three years, and a first grade Sunday School teacher with her husband, Charles, at the Immaculate Conception Church for many years. Her hobbies included league bowling, fishing, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and dancing. Waldine also loved taking family trips, especially to her favorites, Colorado and San Antonio, and she adored her grandchildren.

Waldine is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles E. Wendt, Sr., son Charles Wendt, Jr. and wife Martha of Houston, daughter Annette Janicek and husband Ivan of Wallis, son Rodney Wendt and wife Kim of Bellville, daughter Conni and husband Mike of Montgomery, grandson Aaron Wendt and wife Anabel, grandson Jacob Wendt, grandson Nicholas Wendt, grandson Hunter Janicek and wife Grace, grandson Joshua Janicek, grandson, Douglas Small, grandson Kyle Cox and wife Rachel, granddaughter Cady Morton, granddaughter Riley Morton, granddaughter Abigail Gammons, great-grandson Cory Cabrera, great-grandson Elijah Wendt, great-granddaughter Natalie Wendt, and great-grandson Parker Cox. Waldine is also survived by her sister Evelyn Janish and husband Robert of Bellville, sister-in-law Annie Mae Machinsky of New Ulm, sister-in-law Judy Leschper, brother-in-law Marvin Wendt and numerous nieces and nephews.

Waldine was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Earlene Kopecky; and brother-in-law Johnny; brother, Herbert Machinsky; and brother-in-law, Walter Leschper.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1140 Meyer Street, Sealy, Texas. A Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 Fourth St. in Sealy. Burial will be at Sealy Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jacob Wendt, Hunter Janicek, Joshua Janicek, Nicholas Wendt, Matt Kopecky, and David Janish. Honorary pallbearers are Cady Morton, Riley Morton, Abigail Gammons, Aaron Wendt, Douglas Small, Kyle Cox, David Janish, Robert Janish, Jr., Patrick Janish, Tim Janish, Keith Janish, Kenneth Janish, John Kopecky, Duwayne Machinsky, Andrew Leschper, and Kevin Wendt.
