Emma Laura Farrington Rose, 89, of Houston, died Monday, April 26, 2004. She was born February 22, 1915 in Dallas, Texas to Dr. Charles O. Farrington and Vada E. Meyer. She was a graduate of San Jacinto High School Class of 1932 and attended the University of Texas at Austin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Barry Rose, whom she married on July 3rd 1942 in Carmel, California. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Charles A. Farrington of Antigua, Guatemala.

She is survived by her loving and devoted family: sons, Barry A. Rose and wife, Judy, J. Michael Rose and wife, Jennifer, and Charles M. Rose and wife, Jan; daughter, Katrina E. Rose. Grandchildren are Liesl R. Lawrence and husband, Dylan, Robert A. Rose, Jack and Sarah Rose. Survived also by sister-in-law, Jeannette E. Rose. Extended family includes Tomasa F. Crowe of Dickinson, Texas and David G. Farrington of Antigua, Guatemala.

She was a kind, loyal, and generous person who never complained but always complimented. Her happy heart was infectious to us all and her loving and supportive enthusiasm and spirit will be dearly missed. Our family has been honored and blessed to have had her as Mother and Grandma.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 29, 2004, at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive where the family will be present from 6 until 8 p.m. for visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2004, at Bethany Christian Church, 3223 Westheimer.
