Gordon, George Sr
Obituary
2021
George Gordon Sr., 79 years of age, passed away peacefully at Memorial Herman Hospital with his family by his side on March 15, 2021. George was born February 11, 1942, to James and Ann Gordon in Andover, Massachusetts. His family moved to California when he was ten. He graduated from Paramount High School in 1959. After graduation, he began working with his father at Avon Rubber where he worked for 16 years. Shortly after leaving Avon Rubber, he started working at Aerojet where he worked for 36 years until his retirement. While at Aerojet the company moved and changed names twice but George remained steadfast through it all. Two of his best qualities were loyalty and dedication, each clearly shown in his 52 years of service to two companies. After his retirement in 2012, George enjoyed traveling to visit his kids and grandchildren, babysitting, having lunch with his fellow co-workers, and watching westerns with his wife.

George was a hardworking, dedicated, and caring man. His true legacy will always be measured by instilling these same attributes in each of his kids. He was not only dedicated to his work but also supporting his family and the things that made them happy. George lived for sharing important moments with his kids and grandchildren. This was obvious by his willingness to never miss a game, graduation, wedding, choir event, or the chance to babysit. He truly embodied the attributes every father and grandfather strive to have.

George was a true family man who spent his free time supporting his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all their endeavors. George had a love for sports that he shared with everyone. He enjoyed the countless hours he spent working with his kids and grandchildren on their sports and hobbies. He dedicated his life to his family and was their rock; he leaves a lasting impact that will be cherished and never forgotten. George not only had a profound impact on his kids but influenced many more by volunteering his free time to coach youth sports in California and Texas.

George is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ann Gordon of South Gate, California; his brother, Bill Gordon of San Diego, California; his great-grandchildren, Aubry Eyestone of Hudson, Colorado; and Isiah Janak of Weimar, Texas.

George is survived by his wife, Anita Gordon; his daughters, Debbie Wick and her husband, Michael Wick, of Weimar, Texas, Tammy Eiland of Dallas, Texas, Kelli Gordon of Sealy, TX; his sons, Kenneth Gordon of Sealy, Texas, George Gordon, Jr. and his wife, Megan Gordon, of Killeen, Texas. George is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Martinez, Brandy Janak, Tamara Eyestone, Julie Sydow, David Eiland, Jr., Skylar Gordon, Adam Gordon, Jaymi Gordon, Kaden Gordon, George Gordon III, Gunner Gordon, Blakley Gordon; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, March 20, 2021, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Knesek Bros. Hwy 36 Funeral Chapel, 1140 Meyer Street, Sealy, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Sealy Cemetery.
