Haisler, Willie Charles Jr
Obituary
2022
Willie Charles Haisler, Jr., 78, of Simonton, Texas, passed away doing what he loved…coaching his grandson's little league baseball team. Willie was born in Houston, Texas on January 9, 1944 to parents Willie and Mary Haisler and grew up with his older sister, Doris. He graduated from Dulles High School in 1961 and continued his education at Texas A&M University with the intention of becoming a civil engineer. Willie's plans ended abruptly when he was drafted into the US Army in 1963. Stationed in France and Germany, he held the rank of Spec 5 Sargent and shivered his way through the war by transferring military equipment from one location to another. Surviving the sub-freezing weather, Willie was honorably discharged and moved back to his parent's home in Alief, Texas. Willie married the love of his life, Vinita, on June 27, 1970. He was on the board of elders at the Alief Brethren Church.

Willie enjoyed raising Brahman cattle, watching political stations on tv, and drinking Coca-Cola. He liked to fly fish and operate heavy machinery. He was a man of many talents and loved to pass along his knowledge. His children and grandchildren were the light of his eyes, and you could hear the pride in his voice when he spoke of them. Willie was a hard-working, kind, and patient man who had never met a stranger. His love for baseball and softball was well known throughout the community, and throughout the years, he coached five generations of little league baseball teams.
