Dottie Nell Finch was born in Sealy, Texas on August 17, 1931. She attended Peters Hacienda and Sealy High Schools. Dottie married Buel Finch on March 24, 1948 and together they had three children. Dottie enjoyed working as a waitress at various local restaurants over the years. Dottie and Buel were also Founding members of, “Papa Buel’s Roughriders, INC” a local trail rider group. Dottie enjoyed doing the cooking and bookkeeping for the Roughriders. She was also a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Sealy, Texas. Surrounded by her family, Dottie went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2018 at the age of 86 and just 4 days shy of her 87th birthday.
Dottie is preceded in death by her husband, Buel T. Finch; her son, Rodney T. Finch; parents, Erwin and Lenora Brast; and brother, William Brast. Dottie is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Henry Davis, and Wanda and Joe Kovar; grandchildren, Angelia Lofthouse, John Stanford, Jr., Matthew Kovar, Michelle Rapsilver, Amber Brackett; and numerous great-grandchildren (16) and one great-great grandchild. Serving as pallbearers are John Stanford, Jonathan Lofthouse, Brandon Lofthouse, Matthew Kovar, Garrett Baker, and Nick Rapsilver. Honorary pallbearers were Austin Lofthouse, Evan Lofthouse, Thomas Kovar, Andrew Rapsilver, Chris Rapsilver, Cameron Stanford, and Blake Barron. Serving as ushers are David Lofthouse and Chuck Rapsilver. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 200 Atchison St., Sealy, TX 77474. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM followed by burial at Sealy Cemetery, 768 Fourth St. in Sealy. |
