Chitty, Troy "Coach"
Obituary
2021
Troy "Coach" Chitty of Sealy passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021. While family and friends will miss him, we are comforted by knowing he is in the loving arms of his Savior in Heaven … free of any pain or discomfort.

A native Texan, Troy was born to Pete and Pauline Chitty on January 11, 1939 in Silverton, Texas. He enjoyed his childhood years with friends and family who shared his love of the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and searching for Native American artifacts.

After graduating from Silverton High School and West Texas State College at Canyon in 1962, Troy began his coaching career at Idalou, a small town outside of Lubbock. After four years, he moved on to Sudan and later to Lampasas. In 1986, he joined the coaching staff of Sealy and remained there until his retirement in 2000. It was during this time that Troy met his forever best friend and love of his life, Vicky. They were blessed to share a beautiful life together for 31 years. These years were happiest just being together.

Coach Chitty felt honored to have been a part of the Sealy Tigers' very successful athletic program. He truly had a love for his students and nothing brought a smile to his face quicker than one of them coming up to him and reminiscing about their time spent together.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky; sisters, Joy and LaQuetta; sons, Kirk (wife, Colette), Kyle and Rex (wife, Michelle); 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Coach Chitty left many memories in all the students that he taught and in all the teachers and coaches that he worked with … his legacy will live on in all those memories.
