Dennis H. Mahlmann, 91, of Brenham passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020.

Dennis was born on September 12, 1928 in Welcome to George and Otillie Mahlmann. He was baptized on November 25, 1928 and confirmed in 1943 in the Welcome Lutheran Church. On December 14, 1958, he married Verdell Maass at St. John’s Evangelical Church in Burton. He attended the local Welcome School and Blinn College. He served in the United States Army as a guided missile launcher crew member during the Korean War. Dennis enjoyed raising cattle, working in the country, and riding his John Deere Gator.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verdell Mahlmann; granddaughter, Taylor Mahlmann; parents, George and Otillie Mahlmann; father and mother-in-law, Charlie and Meta Maass; sister, Bernice Mahlmann; brother, Rueben Mahlmann; sisters-in-law, Mae Del Eben and Peggy Edwards; brother-in-laws, Jim Edwards and Dennis Maass; nephew, Kevin Eben; niece, Rita Mahlmann.

He is survived by his son, Gregory Mahlmann; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Keith and Sherry Mahlmann, Reece and Nancy Mahlmann; grandchildren, Everett and Samantha Mahlmann, Dallas and Grant Mahlmann, Chase and wife, Stephanie, and Reece Hanna Mahlmann; great-grandsons, Chance and Cash Mahlmann; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Mahlmann and Evelyn Maass; brother-in-law, Lawrence Eben; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dennis greatly appreciated the help he received from his caregivers Gloria, Mable, and Monisha.

Visitation will be Monday, July 27 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, at 9 a.m. at the Welcome Lutheran Cemetery, with Pastor John Sutton officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks will be required along with social distancing. Please feel free to dress comfortably and bring a chair if so desired to the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to Welcome Lutheran Church or Encompass Hospice, 3600 State Hwy 6 South, Suite 100, College Station, Texas 77845.
