Sell, Allen Eldrich
Obituary
2021
Allen Eldrich Sell was born on June 20, 1929 to Herman and Sophie Luedeke Sell in East Bernard, Texas and made his final journey to be home with His Lord and reunite with loved ones on Saturday, March 13, 2021, peacefully with his family at his side.

He graduated from Wallis High School in 1946. After graduating he worked at the cotton gin and on the Kahanek farm before marrying the love of his life, Tillie Maler, on June 25, 1950. He then went to work as a carpenter with A. G. Mikeska. Two years after their marriage, Allen was drafted into the U.S. Army where he proudly served for two years during the Korean War. After serving his country, he returned to work with A.G. Mikeska until he was hired by WKM Industries. He retired from WKM after 36 years to enjoy his hobby of woodworking, gardening, tending his cattle, and traveling the world. He and his Love spent their 50th wedding anniversary in Australia where they were able to raise the American flag at Olympic Stadium.

Besides serving his country in the Army, he also served his community as a volunteer fire fighter, an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, a member of the Bluebonnet Chapter of the German Society, the Fort Bend Czech Society, the Sealy Garden Club, and a proud member of Wallis Legion Post 200.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law, John and Marie Maler; sisters, Winnie Ola Davis, Adeline Perry; brothers-in-law, Johnny Davis, Albert Perry, Edward Maler, Herbert Frank, Clarence Merritt; sister-in-law, Doris Brast; and nephews, Tony Frank and Tommy Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tillie, of 70 years; children, Barbara and Bill Harrison, David and Roxie Sell, Joyce and Darrell Giese, Carolyn and Robert Rash, and James “Peanut” and Jheri Sell; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

In his earthly venture he was a wonderful husband, daddy, papaw and friend and will be deeply missed by many but will be in our hearts forever until we take our journey to reunite with him.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Allen’s hospice care team, Pastor Karen Wilheim, and all the family and friends for all the cards, phone calls, care, and support during these past months.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 17, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Knesek Bros. Hwy 36 Funeral Chapel, 1140 Meyer Street, Sealy, Texas. A funeral service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church of Wallis, 218 Rogers Street in Wallis on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Wallis City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are James Sell, Billy Harrison, Chris Sell, Derek Giese, Scott Vogel, Casey Lyde, Joaquin Vargas, and Jason Manak. Honorary pallbearer is Larry Mikeska

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to St. John Lutheran, Wallis; Wallis American Legion Post #200; or a charity of your choosing in Allen’s memory.
