Roy is known by his loved ones for his love of life as evident by his constant smile and big hugs he gave, no matter what he was going through he was always happy, patient and peaceful. In his younger years, he loved to take his boat to the lake, travel to Colorado and the Texas coast for fishing trips. The home he and Rosa built in Sealy, Texas included a cat fishing pond where his family and friends spent many hours gathered around fishing, telling stories and laughing. He also loved gardening and he kept many a friend and family member in vegetables throughout the years; he truly had the gift of a "green thumb". As of last summer he was still keeping a garden on the nursing home grounds in Bellville. Roy was completely devoted to his wife Rosa Lee, "Nanny", after her Alzheimer's diagnosis, he rarely left her side at the nursing home where they both lived. He lovingly cared for his Rose making sure she was well cared for, comfortable and never lonely. Roy is a 20 year cancer survivor and a miracle in ever since of the term. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and many other extended family members and friends.
