Winston Eugene Tipp of Sealy, Texas passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the age of 89.

Winston was born in Cat Spring, Texas to Frank and Louise (Dernehl) Tipp. The second of four children, Winston didn't have the opportunity for much formal education, but armed with a strong work ethic he enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He married Carolyn Giebel of Industry, Texas and had two sons, Eric Andrew and Bruce Alan. He spent most of his career as a machinist at WKM and Sealy Precision and retired in 1995.

In his spare time and retirement, he loved working and tinkering with farm equipment, taking care of his cattle, making hay, and being on a tractor. He was happiest outside and working with his hands whether at his Sealy home or family ranch. He also delighted in teaching and playing dominoes with his two granddaughters.

Winston is survived by his wife of 21 years, Gloria Tipp; his son, Eric (Leslie) Tipp; and granddaughters, Campbell and Caroline Tipp; his brother, Otis Tipp. He is also survived by many step-sons and a step-daughter, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Giebel Tipp; son, Bruce Tipp; brother Leaburn Tipp; and sister, Frances Kern.

Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1140 Meyer Street, Sealy, Texas. Social distancing and masks required due to Covid-19 restrictions. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, 480 Ross St., Cat Spring, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 480 Ross Street, Cat Spring, Texas.
