On Sept. 13,2013, Marcus Aubrey Baker, Jr., fell into the arms of God while surrounded by friends and family.

Aubrey was born Dec. 24, 1937, to Marcus Aubrey and Mattie Estelle Baker in New Gulf.

Aubrey was a court reporter for Judges Paul Huser, Oliver Kitzman and Dan Beck, 155th Judicial District, Austin, Fayette and Waller Counties, but his real passion was fishing the bays of Matagorda.

He is predeceased by his beloved parents, sister, Cindy Baker, and brother, Gary Baker. In addition to untold number of friends, Aubrey leaves to cherish his memory his wife and soul mate. Sue Miller-Baker, son Scott Baker of Houston, son Ross Baker of La Grange, aunt Madell Dunlap of Temple, stepson lan Prather and wife Tina of Lake Jackson, stepdaughter Julie Schuster and husband Ricky of Lake Jackson and stepdaughter Connie Williford of Lake Jackson. He took great pride in his grandchildren, Zane Behn, Chase Yarboough, Tristan Williford, lan Schuster and Eric Schuster. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Harley.

A celebration of Aubrey’s life will be held at the Lake Jackson Civic Center on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, from 2-5 p.m. A meal will be provided, per one of his last wishes. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Angie Rios, LVN, Mary Hunter, LVN, and Janice Watt, RN, for their compassionate care while Aubrey was cared for by A-MED Community Hospice. It was Aubrey’s wish that no flowers be sent but that memorials be sent to A-MED Community Hospice in Texas City, Texas, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Boulder, Colo., or the charity of your choice.
