Pike, Amalia "Molly" (Flores)
Obituary
2022
Amalia "Molly" Pike, 84, of Sealy, Texas, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Amalia, one of seven children, was born in San Antonio, Texas, on January 9, 1938. She married James Donald Ivey in 1958. They raised their four children with love, kindness, and laughter.

Amalia was a fun, strong, and loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. As her children grew, she channeled her creative energy and began a career in floral design. Her family moved to Sealy, Texas, in 1975 where she worked as a florist for local flower shops serving Austin and Colorado Counties.

After the passing of her first husband, James Donald Ivey, in 1983, Amalia married Harry Edward Pike in 1986. During their 30-year marriage, Amaila and Ed adored one another and found happiness traveling and spending time with their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was the coolest, Elvis-obsessed grandma to her 15 grandchildren and often jokingly referred to Elvis as their real grandpa. She found joy in hand-making oversized, gorgeous homecoming mums for her granddaughters each year. She was proud of her home and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She had a strong faith in the Lord. She was involved in her community church groups through fellowship, volunteering, and outings. She stayed active, walking, bowling, taking road trips, and having adventures with the ones she loved. Her smile and laughter was contagious. She is deeply missed.

Amalia is survived in death by three of her children, Edward Allen Ivey and wife, Melinda, of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Christina Janet Oldag and husband, James, of Sealy, Texas, son, Carlos Flores and wife, Lori, of Houston, Texas; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Ivey of Kannapolis, North Carolina; brothers, Joe T. Flores of San Antonio, Texas and Jesus T. Flores of San Antonio, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Maria Trevino Flores; late husbands, James Donald Ivey and Harry Edward Pike; brothers, Eliseo and Willie Flores; sisters, Anastacia Trevino and Francisca Trevino; son, James Donald Ivey, Jr.; and grandchildren, Edward Allen Ivey, Jr. and Aaron Scott Oldag.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at the First Wallis Baptist Church on Friday, August 5, 2022, beginning at 3 pm, followed by a burial service at Sealy Cemetery. The Oldag family invites you to a reception and Celebration of Life at their Sealy residence after the burial.
