JUANITA JACQUELINE "JACKIE" PLEASANT, 80, of Sealy, Texas, passed away peacefully Monday, July 28, 2014, in Houston, Texas.
Jackie was born March 15, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Lonzo Lafette and Beatrice Grace Blankenship Anderson. She grew up and attended school in Atlanta. Jackie married Don Pleasant on February 14, 1969, in Houston, Texas. During her working years, Jackie had been employed as a secretary and switchboard operator in the petroleum industry. She and Don have made their home in Sealy where Jackie owned and operated an antique and resale shop. An active member of The Shepherd's Way Church, Jackie was a "people person," and enjoyed serving her church as a greeter on Sunday mornings. She loved everyone she met, and they loved her as well. Jackie was very involved in her community. She was Past President of the Sealy Food Pantry having served for 13 years with the food pantry. She also enjoyed volunteering for the American Red Cross. She loved doing crafts and was also an avid bowler and earned a number of trophies. Jackie is survived by her HUSBAND OF 45 YEARS: Joseph "Don" Pleasant of Sealy; SONS: Monte Mickle and his wife, Linda, of Spring, Byron Mickle and his wife, Valeri, of Austin, and Donald Pleasant and his wife, Ann, of Sealy; DAUGHTERS: Sheila Schiller and her husband, Bill, of Jersey Village, and Raquel Stubblefield of Waller; and GRANDCHILDREN: Emily Ann Simmons and her husband, Sam, Devon Mickle and his wife, Jessie, Clint Mickle and his wife, Liz, Laura Keeler and her husband, Winsor, Connor Mickle, Austin Mickle, Ryan Mickle and his wife, Morgan, Cassaundra Kimball and her husband, Andrew, Alexandria Westover and her husband, Clinton, Jordan Christensen, Ty Christensen, Grant Mickle, Cameron Mickle, Zachery, Reiss, Savannah and Blake Pleasant, Christopher Schiller and his wife, Allison, Joseph Schiller and his wife, Maiko, Britni Newlin and Curtis Fisher, Jr. Jackie is also survived by her GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Ainsley Mickle, Coulson and Aaron Mickle, Afton Simmons, BruceKimball, Emma, Olivia, Zachary and Mason Schiller, and Tsubasa Schiller. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be a viewing on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Schimitdt Funeral Home in Bellville, Texas at 5 p.m.till 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at Shepherd Way Church at 1225 Eagle Lake Road in Sealy, Texas at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014. Interment at Sealy Cemetery. Jackie lived to be 80 years, 4 months and 13 days old. |
