Lynn Joy Estes-waters, 65, passed away at her home in Brookshire, Texas, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Lynn was born March 19, 1957, in Columbia, Missouri to Jerry Sylvester and June Jay (Thurman) Estes. She grew up in Springfield and St. Louis, Missouri, graduating from Lindbergh High School. Lynn lived in Missouri and Florida before making her home in Brookshire, Texas. On July 4, 1997, Lynn was united in marriage with David Waters in Brookshire. For many years, she was an administrative assistant to an underwater pipe company. She also enjoyed her time working as a house parent for people with developmental disabilities. She treasured every moment she spent with her family and friends. Lynn had a deep love for animals, especially cats. Many stray cats have found love and shelter throughout the years from Lynn and David. She is survived by her husband: David Waters of Brookshire; mother: June Martin of Austin; sister: Lisa Estes of Austin; brother: Stephen Estes and wife, Kathi, of McDade; sisters-in-law: Ava Henry and husband, Pat, of Cypress, Judy Barton-Wilder and wife, Laura, of Austin, and Emily Hillsman and husband, Dan, of Brookshire; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.
