Shirley Erlene Ward of Bellville passed peacefully at home with her daughters by her side on Sept. 14, 2013 at age 87. She was born in Belleville, Ill., on Aug. 30, 1926, to Allen and Willie Archie. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellville and also a member of the Bellville General Hospital Auxiliary as a volunteer at the New 2 You resale shop. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, John (Jay). Survivors include her daughters, Jinx Jenkins, Jennifer Busby and Kelley Phelps; grandchildren Stephen Ward, Evan Busby, Michael Diaz, and Amber Diaz; and son-in-law, Kevin Phelps.
