Glenda Rae Paine, 61, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in Lincoln, Nebraska, after a courageous year and a half fight with cancer. Born in Bellville, Texas on May 29, 1953 to Ray Treat Paine and Gladys Heather (Yeldman) Paine, she grew up in the Bellville area, graduating from Bellville High School in the Class of 1972. She spent most of her adult life as a homemaker and mother. Her love for kids found her working in day care, and teaching Bible School to the youngsters at the Baptist Church. Glenda loved going to the beach, and had a real love for riding the ferries in Galveston. She loved to swim, read books and always had dreams of being an interior decorator. Glenda was a compassionate listener that loved being around and caring for children. She is survived by her mother Heather Paine of Columbus. Daughter; Rebecca Maresh, husband Jose Sanchez of Dickinson, Texas. Sons; Jason Maresh, wife Tina of Windsor, Virginia; Justin Maresh, wife Jennifer, Friendswood, Robert Maresh and wife, April, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Bryan Maresh, Bay Cliff. Sister; Jennifer Zahradnick, husband, Allan, Eagle Lake. Grandchildren; Coby, Tenley, Matthew, Madison, Rebecca, Michael, Alex, and Lydia. Nieces; Adriane Zahradnick of Houston, Melody and husband Phil Osborne of Eagle Lake, Rachael and husband John Schroeder of Shiner. Glenda was preceded in death by her father, Ray Treat Paine. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5 – 6:30 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, Bellville, with Rev. Yolanda Anderson, officiating. Graveside Services will be conducted at 11 AM, Saturday, April 18, 2015, in the Oak Knoll Cemetery, Bellville, Texas with Rev. Yolanda Anderson, officiating. Memorial may be made in Glenda’s name to the American Cancer Society, c/o Vernice Luhn, Meissner Road, Bellville, Texas 77418.
