Glenn Alan Maresh, 62, lifelong resident of Bellville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, in Bellville.

Glenn was born Aug. 19, 1952, in Bellville, the son of Frank E. and Marie Jasek Maresh. He grew up and attended school in Bellville, graduating from Bellville High School in 1971.

On July 25, 1995, Glenn married Darla Fillip Krumrey at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. They have made their home in Bellville where Glenn owned and operated Glenn Maresh Dozer Service. He had also been employed as a dozer operator for Priesmeyer Bros., and in 1990, he established Glenn’s Patio Refinishing Co. Glenn had also worked for Federal Signs in Houston.

He was a member of the Sons of Hermann and served as a Director for the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery Association for ten years. He also volunteered his time maintaining the grounds at St. John Lutheran Retreat Center. Glenn enjoyed barbequing, fishing in the river, and treasured the time he was able to spend with his family and tending to his cattle.

He is survived by his wife Darla Maresh of Bellville; children Jason Maresh and wife, Tina, of Virginia, Justin Maresh and wife, Jennifer, of Friendswood, Rebecca Maresh and Jose Sanchez of Dickinson, Robert Maresh and wife, April, of Nebraska, Lindsey Maresh of Huntsville, Bradley Maresh and wife, Desi, of Hempstead, and Bryan Maresh of Baycliff; step daughter Lori Flisowski and husband, Trevor, of Boerne; grandchildren Bryson, Coby, Aarron, Aiden, Michael, Lydia, Alex, Tinley, Matthew, and Madyson; father-in-law Gene Fillip of Angleton; and many other dear friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Franklin Maresh, sister-in-law, Doris Maresh, and mother-in-law, Marjory Fillip.

Family received friends Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville. Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 13, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville with Rev. Andrew Bell officiating. Interment followed in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Bellville. Pallbearers were his sons: Jason Maresh, Justin Maresh, Bryan Maresh, Bradley Maresh and Robert Maresh, his son-in-law: Trevor Flisowski, and grandsons: Bryson Flisowski and Coby Maresh. Honorary Pallbearers were Bobby Fick, Wilbert Wendt and Billy Lange.
