Julian George “Pop” Pawlak of Bellville, passed away at his residence on Sept. 6, 2014.

He was born on Feb. 22, 1945, to Frank and Sophie (Benkowski) Pawlak in Bellville.

He was raised in Buckhorn and he graduated from Bellville High School in 1964. He was a member of the 1960 Class AA State Finalist football team.

Julian married Elaine Hrachovy on May 27, 1967, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville. He was a member of the Army National Guard Airborne Division, the Bellville Booster Club, a Bellville Little League and Little League All Star coach, and the proud owner of Pawlak Tile Company.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Julian loved his wife, his children, his daughters-in-law, his five grandchildren, family and friends. He also loved the Bellville Brahmas and the Texas Aggies.

Julian was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Sophie Pawlak and his wife, Elaine.

He is survived by son Dale and his wife Tracy and their three children Hannah, Kaitlyn and Kyle of Cypress, Texas; son Gregg and his wife Rebecca and their two children Allison and Dalton of Cypress, Texas; brother Eugene Pawlak and his wife Emily of Bellville; brothers-in-law Dr. James Hrachovy and his wife Janie and Dr. Richard Hrachovy and his wife Cheryle, all of Columbus, along with several cousins, nieces, a nephew and their families.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville. A wake celebrating his life followed. Funeral service was held Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at 10 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Tim Bucek officiating.

Pallbearers were James Jones, William “Billy” Johnson, John Lyth, Chase Pawlak, Mark Pawlak and Rodney Wendt. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne “Rip” Alexander, Sam Center , Dr. James Hrachovy, Dr. Richard Hrachovy, German Rivera, Kenneth Slater, Charlie Smith and Ricky Smith. Interment followed in Oak Knoll Cemetery .
