William Louis Miller, 77, of Bellville passed away Sept. 11 in his residence. Funeral services were held Sept. 17 at Bethel Baptist Church, 513 San Felipe Road in Sealy, with Rev. Charles B. Frazier officiating. Interment was in the Glenn Cemetery in Sealy.

He was born on Oct. 31, 1931 to parents, the late Willie Miller and the late Ms. Freader Jones, in Bellville. William confessed at an early age and united with Samuel Chapel AME Church in the Buckhorn community in Bellville.

Later in life, he moved to Sealy, where he united with Bethel Baptist Church. He married Costella Harris on June 24, 1951. To this union, nine children were born. On April 15, 1994 he married Birdie Mae Glenn.

Throughout his life, he worked as a laborer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willie Miller Jr., Lucious Miller and Arthur Miller; sisters, Ruthie Banks, Ethel Green and Vincetta Walker; and sons, Curtis Harris and Winston Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Birdie Mae Miller; sons, William Miller Jr. and wife Triby of Houston; Sammy Miller Sr. and wife Ruby, Johnnie Legan of Sealy and Freeman Miller of Bellville; step-son, John Glenn of Bellville; daughters, Linda Miller and husband Earnest of Victoria, Sharron Watts and husband Melvin and Jennifer Mosley, husband Marty of Bellville, Veronica Monroe and husband Walter of Houston and Millie Legan of Sealy; step-daughter, Denise Glenn of Sealy; sisters, Rosie Mae Williams of Bellville and Lillie Moore of Austin; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Willie Johnson, Earnest Telford, Charles Webster, Michael Skrivanek, Deidrick Miller and Daniel Machala. Honorary pallbearers were William Miller Jr., Sammy Miller Sr., Freeman Miller, Johnnie Legan, A.J. Harris, Melvin Watts, Walter Monroe, Marty Mosley, Sammy L. Miller Jr. and John Glenn.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Diggs Funeral Home, 428 West Meyer St. in Bellville, (979) 865-2267.
