Mary Perhosky Lyerly, 90, passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, in Richardson, Texas. She was born at home on June 22, 1923, in Carnegie, Penn., the daughter of Frank and Helen (Pronko) Perhosky. Mary grew up and attended schools in Scott Township, Pennsylvania, graduating from Scott Township High School.

Mary was united in marriage to Edward J. Lyerly, on Sept. 14, 1949, at the Assumption Catholic Church in Houston, where they resided for 52 years. Upon retirement, they made their home on a small farm near Kenney, Texas. They had most recently lived in Richardson, Texas to be near their daughter.

Mary is survived by her daughter Saundra Scott and her husband, Huey, of Richardson, Texas; grandsons Patrick Scott and his wife, Lauren, of Cypress, Texas, and Matthew Scott and his wife, Sory, of Richardson, Texas; great grandchildren Abril Scott, Alexis Scott and Ava Scott; sisters Christine Ziolkowski and her husband, Leonard, of Dallas, Pennsylvania, and Helen Perhosky of Houston; brother Paul Perhosky of Carnegie, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Lyerly, in 2007, parents, Frank and Helen Perhosky, son, Edward Jerome, Jr., sister, Ann Aurin, brothers, John, Walter, Frank, Leo, Joseph and Michael Perhosky.

Pallbearers are: Gary Driskell, Steve Driskell, Mike Driskell, George Lyerly, Patrick Scott and Matthew Scott.

Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville. Funeral Service followed at 11 a.m. Interment was in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
