Wednesday, June 8, 2011 6:01 pm Funeral services for Elgin "Zeke" Pavelka, 83, of Sealy were held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy with Rev. David Vandercook officiating. Interment was in the Sealy Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lowell Coody, Russell Krupala, Vernon Ekarius, Bob Beachboard, Brad Biss and Jeff Maertz. Elgin Melvin Pavelka was born in New Bremen, Texas to parents Ed J. Pavelka and Martha Luedke Pavelka. He was raised in New Bremen and graduated from Sealy High School. Pavelka married the former Norma Coody Trogdon on May 30, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy. He worked as a carpenter in home building. Zeke was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sealy American Legion for over 55 years and served on the executive board, cooked for various V.A. functions, had a passion for giving back through the V.A. for military service and he loved gardening. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Pavelka passed away on May 28, 2011 in Sealy. Survivors include Zeke's wife Norma Pavelka of Sealy; daughters Vicki Trogdon of Dallas, Sherri Santoro of Sealy and Laurie Pavelka of Sealy and sisters Bernice Lehmann of Columbus, LaVern Machala and husband Jerry of Pasadena. He was preceded in death by parents Ed J. and Martha Pavelka and brother Milton Palvelka. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Knesek Funeral Home. Posted by Joy Neely |
