The Brookshire Times, August 15, 1930:

Sealy, Aug. 11. -- W.H. Blakey, about 50, filling station proprietor at San Felipe, six miles from here, was shot to death there Monday morning and Will Esar, 40, farmer of the San Felipe community was placed in jail at Bellville pending arrangement of bond of $1000 on a charge of murder lodged against him in the court of Justice E.E. Kastrop at Sealy.

The shooting took place at the Esar home, according to report made to Sheriff A.J. Remmert at Belville by Deputy Sheriff George Coy of Sealy, to whom Esar surrendered shortly after the shooting. No other particulars of the shooting had been obtained by the Sheriff.

Preliminary hearing for Esar will be held Thursday by Justice Kastrop. -- Houston Chronicle
