Funeral services for Kermit W. "Lindy" Lindemann, 77, of Brownsville were held Tuesday, May 30, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home in Brownsville with the Rev. William (Bill) Hughes officiating. Burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Garden.

Mr. Lindemann died unexpectedly Friday, May 26, 1995 in AMI Brownsville Medical Center.

Born at Rockhouse May 16, 1918, he was the son of the late Albert and Lydia (Muenster) Hughes.

He was united in marriage with Ruth Bennett for 56 years.

In 1937 he joined the army and then transferred to the Air Force and spent most of his time in the Air Force at Chanute Field, Illinois, where he directed a dance band until 1945. In 1946 he became manager of the Rogers Photo Supply, which later became Britton's Photo Supply, a position he held until his death. Mr. Lindemann was an avid bowler, having won many awards and trophies. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Benner Lindemann of Brownsville; one daughter, Lois Lindemann of Los Fresnos; one son, Kermit E. Lindemann of El Paso; two brothers, Karl Lindemann of Houston and Gus Lindemann of La Grange; three sisters, Marian Tietjen of Swiss Alp, Gloria Krause of New Ulm and Rosemary Carter of Pell City, Alabama; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Karl Wesley Lindemann.

Memorials are suggested in the Rio Grande Children's Home, Main Office 2 1/2 miles north Bentsen Palm Drive, McAllen, Texas.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Darling Mouser Funeral Home, Brownsville.
