Funeral services for Edith Reichle Zander of New Ulm were held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Industry United Methodist Church with Pastor Leo Carrasco and Kruse Memorial Village Chaplin Glenn Hohlt officiating. Interment was in the New Ulm Cemetery.

Mrs Zander passed away on April 10, 2015 at the age of 102.

She was born in Oakland, Texas on August 12, 1912 to Chester Allen Grobe and Viola Voitle Grobe.

After graduating from Weimar High School, Edith began her teaching career in New Ulm, Texas soon after her eighteenth birthday.

On Thanksgiving Day in 1933 Edith was married to Leander A. Reichle of New Ulm, Texas. Until his passing in 1972 the couple made their home in New Ulm with Edith teaching in New Ulm, Glidden and Bernardo and working for the Ernest H. Baumgart Insurance Agency. In 1993, at eighty years of age, she married Herman G. Zander of Bellville, Texas. They were happily married until Herman's death in 2002. Edith was a member of the Industry United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Wesleyan Service Guild, the Dora Circle and the United Methodist Women. She was a lifetime member of the Columbus and Bellville Chapters of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Leander A. Reichle, Jr. and Helen Jane of New Ulm, Texas, a sister, Ruth Huse of Weatherford, Texas and three grandchildren, Cheryl Bishop of Murphy, Texas, James Reichle and wife Amy of Austin, Texas and Patricia LeBlanc and husband Paul of Austin, Texas and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ola Merle Powell and her brother, Chester Allen Grobe, Jr.

Pallbearers were great-grandchildren, Erin Reichle, Brett Bishop, Thomas LeBlanc and Andrew LeBlanc.
