Aldean Joyce (Gross) Galle, 90, of New Ulm, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Oak Haven Assisted Living Facility in Industry.

Aldean was born in New Ulm, Texas on June 18, 1923, the daughter of Adolph and Lillie (Krause) Gross. She married Hilbert L. Galle on Oct. 25, 1943 in New Ulm.

Aldean worked on the family farm in the poultry and cattle businesses. She also worked in the cotton, milo and corn fields. She thrived on working hard and helping others. Aldean and Hilbert loved dancing to polkas, waltzes and country western music. They loved traveling, especially to the Hill Country, and spending time with the family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Aldean was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and held several offices in the Women of the Church Organization. She also worked with the WECCO Program and the Auxiliary of Shelby American Legion Post # 602. She was a 4-H leader for many years. Aldean was very involved in the communities of Industry and New Ulm.

She is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Eckermann and husband, Larry, of Burton; son, Burnie Galle and wife, Patti, of New Ulm; daughter-in-law, Elaine Galle of Industry; eight grandchildren: Laurie Shupak and husband, Terry; Brett Galle and wife, Lisa; Blake Galle and wife, Carrie; Stacy Kunetka and friend, John Winter; Kori Kelm and husband, Keith; Wade Eckermann and wife, Donna; Lisa Wise and husband, Tommy; Kara Sodolak and husband, Matt; two step grandchildren: Graham Knight and wife, Shann; Krysti Lilley and husband, Kyle; sixteen great grandchildren: Ben, Emily and Elaina Shupak; Dillon and Dayton Galle; Kelton and Katelynne Galle; Garrett Kunetka; Jordan and Sienna Kelm; Cash, Jocey and Peyton Eckermann; Jack and Jake Wise; and Kenley Sodolak; two step great grandchildren: Gavyn and Serena Knight; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hilbert; son, David “Bootsie” Galle; daughter-in-law, Karen Galle; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Mary Galle; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Glenn Gross and wife, Florence, Roy Gross and wife, Leona; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marcus Galle and wife, Alma; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Reseda Eckermann and husband, Barnet; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Minnie Washam and husbands, Tom and Edwin Spiess.

Visitation was Monday, April 28, 2014 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Zaskoda Chapel in Industry. Family received friends from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral Services were held at St. John Lutheran Church, New Ulm, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Burial followed at New Ulm Cemetery.
