Lidge M. Eder, 96, of Wallis, Texas was welcomed by his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 30, 2023. He was born April 3, 1926 to Michael Eder and Catherine Haczynski Eder of Wallis, Texas. He attended Guardian Angel Catholic School in Wallis. His childhood in Wallis instilled a life long passion for deer and duck hunting, fishing, raising cattle and gardening. He didn’t care if his deer had a big rack as long as it was legal. His countless racks are proudly displayed throughout his home and barn.
He was well known for his sense of humor and his countless stories of WWII where he served as a medic and more. He was very proud of every family member who served and stood tall for each and every one. After the war he took an agricultural schooling course. He devoted his time and love for his dog, Bingo and his cattle. Lidge was a bachelor all his life. He devoted 35 years working at WKM (Cooper Industries) in Large Gate Valve Division from February 27, 1956 – May 1, 1991. During his tenure, Lidge and his fellow co-workers built the first Alaska Pipeline Valve, receiving recognition for the quality of his work. Lidge was an active and devoted member of the American Legion Post 200 and the Knights of Columbus, Wallis Texas. Lidge leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael Eder and Catherine Haczynski Eder of Wallis, brothers August Eder of San Antonio, Marion Eder of Needville, John Eder, Edward Eder, Victor Eder, Stash Eder and sister Helen Eder, all of Wallis. Pallbearers are: Michael Eder, Larry Eder, Victor Eder, John Eder, Charlie Eder, Anthony Drymalla. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing and rosary on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Knesek Funeral Home Wallis, Texas. His service will be on Monday, April 3 at 11:00 am at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Wallis, Texas. Interment follows at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
