Diane Denise Houston was born on August 28, 1965 in Hempstead, Waller County, Texas to Alberta Houston and the late Raymond Benjamin. She was the first of four children. Diane grew up in Buckhorn Community, Bellville, Texas. She attended public school in the Bellville Independent School District, Bellville, Texas. She graduated from the Bellville High School in 1984. On January 27, 1987, Diane married Reverend Johnnie Cooper, Jr. To this union, three children were born, Allan Michael, Dontea, Albany Cooper and Reverend Cooper raised T.J. as his own. Diane accepted Christ at an early age. She became a member of Jackson Chapel AME Church, Kenney, Texas, later in life; she became a member of New Prairie View Baptist Church, San Felipe, Texas, Rocky Chapel Baptist Church, Weimer, Texas and Historic Allen African Methodist Episcopal Church, Bellville, Texas. “Lady D”, as she was called, married Don Earthman on May 8, 2010, no children were born to this union. “Lady D” worked several years for the Bellville Independent School District, at the Spicer Campus. She took pride in her job and she would find something good in every child. She did Home Health Care and worked at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Bellville, Texas. “Lady D” had a smile that would light up a room, even when she didn’t feel well she would tell “you” “its okay, I feel alright, everything is wonderful.” She is preceded in death by one son, Charles Dontae Cooper; her grandparents, Mr. Tommie Houston, Sr. and Mrs. Sadie Houston; stepfather, Wilbert Kesee, Sr. who raised her. She is survived by her husband, Don Earthman; sons, Terrance (T.J.) (Kerri) Houston, Monville, Texas and Allan Michael (Kendall) Cooper, Waller, Texas; daughter Albany Cooper, Bellville, Texas; mother, Ms. Alberta Broussard, Bellville, Texas; sisters. Miss Nina Kesee, Bellville, Texas and Ms. Gail Kesee Smith, Brenham, Texas; brothers, Robert J. Kesee (Charlene) Houston, Texas, Wilbert Kesee, Jr., Bellville, Texas; aunts, Ms. Mildred Turner, Miss Sandra Houston, Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs. Robbie Lee Moore, Patricia Harris and Carolyn Kesee, Houston, Texas; Houston, Texas; uncles, Mr. Willie Houston (Sue), Bellville, Texas, Mr. Wayne Houston, Houston, Texas, Mr. Charles Houston, Bellville, Texas, Mr. Tommie Houston, Jr. (Joyce), Dallas, Texas and Mr. Robert Houston (Christy), Bellville, Texas and Reverend Floyd Kesee, Sr., Kenney, Texas; five grandchildren, Isaiah, Makayla, Dontae, Jordyn and Sariah, whom she loved dearly; special friend, Everlene Green Harris and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and others who loved her.
