Leeland Frank Schramm was born to Lawrence Schramm and Olivia Bader Schramm on Sept. 27, 1934 in Nelsonville. He passed away on July 22, 2013 in Brenham.

Leeland was a member of Nelsonville Brethren Church. He was an associate member and attended the Industry United Methodist Church. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and rancher. Mr. Schramm was a member of The Texas Sportsman Association.

He volunteered his time with local fundraisers for the community.

Mr. Schramm was in the U.S. Army from October 1957 to February 1963. He was employed by San Bernard Electric Cooperative for 37 years and retired in 2002.

After retirement, he fulfilled his dream of owning land in Mason, Texas, where he built the family camphouse and enjoyed many good times with family and friends.

Leeland Schramm was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Olivia Schramm, his first wife, Shirley Schramm, sons, Allen and William Schramm, brother, Lester Schramm and sister-in-law, Lena Schramm and step-son, Howard Fojt.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Schramm, daughter, Sandra Zientek and husband, Patrick, son, Gene Schramm and wife, Cheryl, sister, Oze Ruether and husband, Lawrence and sister, Lillie Mae Faist, brother-in-law Wilfred Hupe and wife, Dorothy, grandchildren, Angel and Devin Schramm, Adrienne and Kelsey Zientek, step daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Seal and husband, George, step granddaugher, Michelle Harrison and husband, Michael and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, 842 E. Main St., Bellville.

Funeral Service were at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Nelsonville Brethren Church, Nelsonville with Reverend Michael Groseclose officiating.

Interment at National Cemetery, Nelsonville, Texas.

Pallbearers: Charlie Krueger, Darrel Krueger, Chuck Buechmann, Garrett Neubauer, Dennis Peschel and Brett Galle.

Memorials may be made to Nelsonville Brethren Church or Industry United Methodist Church.
