Death of B. C. McDonald 1917, The Sealy News The death of occurred at him home in this city Tuesday, November 6, at 12:30 p.m. Funeral was held Wednesday, the 7th, under the auspices of Palmetto Camp W.O.W., at which deceased was a very active and honored member. The remains were interred in the Sealy Cemetery and services were conducted by Rev. H. A. Matney. Mr. McDonald, known to most everyone as just plain Mac was of a jovial disposition, always smiling and never out of humor. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances and to these his death came somewhat as a shock for only a few days ago his face was familiar on the streets and at his place of business. He became ill last Friday and though he made a valiant fight for life, pneumonia came out victorious and when the end came his wife and a number of other relatives and friends were with him. Deceased was born in Monroe, La., September 6, 1878. He was married October 24, 1906, living first at Stamps, Ark., later in Houston and Longview, Texas, Coming to Sealy in 1910, where he spent the balance of his days. He was a member of Palmetto Camp., W. O. W., Knights of the Maccabes of Houston, Tribe of Ben Hur, Longview, Brotherhood of American Yoeman, Sealy and F.O.E. No. 394, Monroe, La. He leaves besides his widow, one son by a former wife, the boy is now with the army in France; he also has a sister, Mrs. J. T. Cooper of Monroe; two half brothers, B. N. McDonald of Monroe and J. H. McDonald of Alexandria, La. Father of Deceased died at Alexandria on October 6, just one month ago.
